Sándor Kovács: School-Image

The study discusses school-image, an especially intriguing phenomenon involving manager-like school direction. Once it has been established, school-image can have two dimensions: identification and value judgement. On the one hand school-image is a formative or influential factor in institutional strategy. In this respect the following aspects can be distinguished: rational, fraternal, relational, political and cultural. On the other hand, if we dwell on the identification factor we can differentiate the inner picture, the outer institutional image, the vectorial idea and the social self-image. Due to a lack of ample and intensively informative knowledge, hearsay, simplification, stereotype and "proper formation" are the main contributors in the formation of school-image.
