Jürgen van Buer: Research into teaching and learning in Germany

The author presents the development of reaching-learning researches in the past 20 years through various examples. After some introductory statements characterizing German empirical pedagogy, he depicts the process which, from the mid-80s, brought about a transfer of emphasis on the microanalysis of teaching-learning process. Then he dealt with the results, problems and questions arisen. The paper focuses on describing and analysing the behaviour of teachers, the „survival strategies” of learners, as well as the „planning games” applied in commercial schools. Finally, the author outlines the further development teaching-learning researches in the 90s, especially the ones carried out in commercial schools.
