SZTE Institute of Education at the MTA’s 200-Year Celebration
On 21 November 2025, as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the conference “Research, Development and Innovation in Education: The Development of Empirical Educational Research in Hungary” was held at the Academy’s Headquarters in Budapest.
At the conference, colleagues from our Institute delivered presentations on topics ranging from early childhood to higher education. Their talks addressed the role of diagnostic assessment in supporting personalised development, modern approaches to measuring school readiness, opportunities for developing thinking skills in reading, mathematics and science education, factors influencing academic achievements, educational inequalities, and the significance of design experiments and action research in educational innovation.

The conference offered a comprehensive overview of the development of empirical educational research in Hungary and highlighted the internationally recognised contributions of the SZTE Institute of Education to the fields of assessment and learning research.
The event was organised by the Szeged Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Committee on Education and Psychology.
