Edit Tóth is a graduated economist and history teacher (2006), who also completed herPhD studiesin education at the Graduate School of Educational Sciences of the University of Szeged between 2007 and2010. She has been a junior research fellow at the Research Group on the Development of Competencies, Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2010, member of the Center for Research on Learning and Instruction since 2009. She is a guest lecturer at the Institute of Education and at the Institute of Finances and International Relations at the University of Szeged (subjects taught: educational politics, educational economics and research methodology). Her research interests are cognitive development, school accountability, the longitudinal assessment of the development of abilities, school and family as background variables in students’ achievement. She has been a member of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction since 2008. She has been participating in several national research projects as a research fellow carrying out tasks such as the development of financial literacy, secondary analysis of the results of large-scale national and international assessments, teachers’ beliefs on testing and accountability and surveys on the effectiveness of Classmate-PC. Professional advisor of an EU-funded project entitled ‘Dynamic Assessment of Functioning and Oriented at Development and Inclusive Learning’.
