Pál Hamar and Béla Derzsy: Physical education teachers' opinions about current issues in curriculum theory

In the context of the curriculum changes and development process that began in the 1990s, this paper examines practitioners' opinions regarding the issues of content regulation, control and evaluation in the field of physical education, a cultural domain where these have a long tradition of being considered as performance-related. About 1200 subjects responded to a questionnaire anonymously from all nineteen counties of Hungary (towns and villages alike) as well as the capital, Budapest. The areas under investigation included (physical education) curricula and exam-based output regulation; grading and/or evaluation. The sample in the study only included practicing teachers working in primary, secondary or higher education. Key words: physical education, content regulation, control, and evaluation.
