Mihály Andor: The recrutation of academic secondary schools

Although the student population of academic secondary schools is a selective and relatively homogeneous group as compared to other secondary school students, this group can be further differentiated according to the institution maintaining the school (local government, church or foundation) and the type of the institution (four-, six- or eight-year schools). The differentiation is based on a cultural identity in the wide sense of the word, the main components of which are permanent residence, the educational level of the parents, their occupation and workplace, and the cultural and economic status of the family..
