Ákos Komlóssy: On School Strategi

The author argues that schools should develop their own strategies, especially in the presently changing environment of public education. Strategic planning evolved in the practice of economic organizations over the last decades. However, as schools are becoming more like economic units and as financial and budgetary threats emerge, it is important for both educational researchers and school principals to consider the application of the achievements of economics. The development of strategical thinking and planning is presented, followed by the discussion of the present situation to reveal the conditions for implementing such activities. The survey points out that schools should cooperate with municipal governments in developing their strategic plans.
