Proposals will be reviewed by at least two referees appointed by the Scientific Programme Committee. The following criteria will be applicable to all formats: symposium papers, thematic papers and posters. Different sets of criteria are applied to theoretical and empirical papers (which the author specifies when uploading) and symposium summaries.
Theoretical paper
- Theoretical embeddedness
- Elaboration of theory
- Aspects of analysis and their relevance
- Originality
- Overall quality, structure and style
- Relevance of theory and practice
Empirical paper
- Theoretical embeddedness
- Aims and research questions or hypotheses
- Research methodology
- Presentation and interpretation of results
- Overall quality, structure and style
- Relevance of theory and practice
Symposium summary
- Aims
- Coherence
- Overall quality, structure and style
- Relevance of theory and practice
Referees will assign the proposals 0 to 5 points in each category. They may also add short comments to their scores. If there is a difference of more than ten points between the two ratings, a third referee will be requested by the Scientific Programme Committee to evaluate the proposal.
Based on the evaluation of the referees, the Scientific Programme Committee will define the minimum scores for acceptance of theoretical and empirical proposals and will make the final decision, which may be: (1) accepted; (2) rejected; or (3) accepted but re-assigned to a different conference format.
If a proposal is rejected, it is not possible to change and re-submit it. Assignment to a different conference format means that a paper in a symposium will be redirected as a paper in a thematic session or that a paper will be redirected as a poster. If the proposal is re-assigned, the author may decide against presenting their work. In this case, the conference organisers should be notified (onk2021@edu.u-szeged.hu).
If a proposal is accepted, it does not automatically guarantee that the abstract will be included in the conference book of abstracts. Abstracts are only published in the conference book of abstracts if the presenting author pays the registration fee by the deadline.
